About the team
The Brand and Creative Centre of Excellence supports Marketing & Corporate Affairs (MCA) in delivering strong creative and production outcomes. It sits within the wider MCA function and contributes to brand strategy, campaign development, partnerships, social media, and creative production.
You will be part of Commonwealth Bank’s internal creative agency, CBAgency.
About CBAgency
CBAgency focuses on providing creative and production support for CommBank MCA, with an emphasis on quality and value in every delivery. The team works to continuously improve how work is produced and delivered, while ensuring communications make an impact for audiences and customers and align with brand strategy and communication goals.
The role reports to the Creative Lead, CBAgency.
Key responsibilities
- Work both autonomously and alongside creative colleagues, senior stakeholders, and business partners to shape ideas and turn campaign briefs into finished concepts.
- Operate effectively in a busy studio setting, using a practical, solutions-focused approach to deliver campaigns from concept through final execution across print, simple HTML, digital content, and broader generalist design work.
- Assist with rollout of assets for large, multi-channel campaigns.
- Check that creative work aligns with the brief and meets quality standards.
- Create motion-led content, including animation, storyboards, and video edits, to bring the brand to life in market.
- Confidently present creative thinking and explain the reasoning behind design concepts.
- Keep improving creative output so it is tailored to the right channel and reflects best-in-class contextual design.
- Manage your own workload and meet deadlines consistently.
- Prepare, export, and distribute campaign assets as required.
- Source and provide video and imagery when requested.
Experience and capabilities
- Hands-on experience across the Adobe Creative Suite and Google tools, including Google Web Designer, Google Studio, Google Campaign Manager, Adobe Animate, After Effects CC, Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC, InDesign CC, and Adobe XD.
- Exposure to generative AI platforms and the ability to use them within different creative workflows.
- Ability to take an idea from brief to final artwork for digital channels.
- Strong conceptual thinking, with experience developing creative territories, pitching ideas, and explaining design decisions.
- Good understanding of responsive design for both mobile and desktop, especially for video and content applications.
- General knowledge of pre-press preparation, finished art, and print management is considered an advantage.
Working style and flexibility
CommBank supports flexible ways of working, with at least half of each month spent connecting in the office. Other flexible options may also be available, such as adjusted start and finish times, part-time arrangements, and job sharing, depending on the role.
