Role Purpose

In this position, you will work as a Process Engineer within the Engineering Fixed Facilities Department and report to the Process Lead or Engineering Manager. You will contribute to project delivery across a range of company assignments, with guidance from the process lead.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, define, validate, and size process items, units, and technical deliverables for project execution as part of a process team.
• Create heat and material balance models using process simulation tools.
• Develop process flow diagrams that map unit operations required to transform feedstock into products meeting specifications in the most cost-effective way.
• Determine equipment and instrumentation needs, size them appropriately, and issue the related process data sheets.
• Produce piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Carry out hydraulic and thermal calculations for piping systems in both steady-state and transient conditions.
• Specify utility requirements and design the associated systems.
• Determine the volume and properties of effluents intended for environmental disposal.
• Prepare operating manuals and test run procedures.
• Apply the project’s contractual design philosophy in all deliverables.
• Review the technical accuracy of calculations, software simulations, and deliverables prepared by junior engineers.
• Participate in multidisciplinary reviews such as P&ID reviews, HAZOP studies, and 3D model reviews.

Requirements

• An engineering degree, ideally in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• At least 8 years of experience as a Process Engineer in EPC, EPCI, Oil & Gas, Energy, or Industrial projects.
• Prior exposure to multidisciplinary engineering teams is considered an advantage.
• Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in multinational project environments.
• Practical knowledge of process simulation tools.
• Familiarity with process flow diagrams and P&IDs.
• Experience performing hydraulic and thermal calculations.
• Understanding of utility systems, environmental discharge requirements, and operating procedures.
• Working knowledge of HAZOP and other multidisciplinary engineering review processes.
• Comfort using process simulation software and the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Employment Terms

• This is a permanent, project-based position.
• Standard working hours are 45 hours per week, arranged as 9 hours per day across 5 days.
• The role is based in Doha, Qatar.
