Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Kolkata for a Sales Associate. The selected candidate will interact with customers, identify their requirements, explain suitable product choices, and help them arrive at well-informed buying decisions. The role also includes responding to sales enquiries, keeping product information up to date, managing billing or order entry, and maintaining sales documentation. In addition, the Sales Associate will work with the sales team to support targets, assist with promotions, and provide post-sale support when needed. A professional image, strong service standards, and a positive customer experience are important parts of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Speak with customers, understand what they are looking for, and suggest relevant product options.
- Handle customer questions and sales enquiries in a timely and helpful manner.
- Keep product knowledge current in order to explain features and benefits clearly.
- Support billing, order processing, and related administrative sales tasks.
- Record and update sales information accurately.
- Work alongside the sales team to help achieve sales goals.
- Assist with promotional activities whenever required.
- Provide support after the sale if customers need follow-up assistance.
- Maintain a polished appearance and follow the company’s service expectations.
Qualifications
- Good verbal communication and people skills for working with customers and team members.
- Foundational knowledge of sales and customer service, with the ability to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products.
- Strong organization and time-management abilities to manage several interactions and keep records accurate.
- Comfort using basic computer software and point-of-sale systems, with a willingness to learn additional tools.
- Availability to work on-site in Kolkata, including weekends or longer hours when business demand requires it.
- Retail or sales experience is helpful but not essential; a willingness to learn and adapt is important.
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; a background in business or commerce is considered an advantage.
