Senior Analyst, DevOps

About the Role

Visteon is hiring a Sr Analyst I, DevOps for its Chennai office. This position sits within the DevOps team and focuses on building, automating, and improving delivery pipelines and cloud-ready infrastructure. The role supports faster releases, stronger reliability, and better engineering efficiency by connecting development and operations through automation, observability, and governance.

What You’ll Do

• Set and carry out DevOps practices that support business objectives and product delivery priorities.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD.
• Guide and support the DevOps/SRE team while defining practical standards and engineering best practices.
• Develop and manage infrastructure across both on-premises and hybrid environments.
• Work with containerization and orchestration platforms, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using platforms such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Embed security into delivery workflows, with attention to DevSecOps practices and vulnerability control.
• Introduce automation to raise deployment speed, improve stability, and reduce operational effort.
• Support high availability, performance tuning, and incident handling processes.
• Partner with development, QA, and product stakeholders to simplify release workflows and improve delivery results.

Experience and Performance Expectations

This role requires 6 to 10 years of experience. Performance will be assessed through CI/CD pipeline reliability, deployment frequency, lead time for changes, incident recovery speed, automation coverage across build/test/deploy stages, reduction in manual effort, and optimization of pipeline performance such as build time and resource use.

Required Knowledge and Skills

The ideal candidate should understand core CI/CD concepts, source control systems such as Git, GitLab, and IBM Rational Team Concert, Docker and Kubernetes fundamentals, automation approaches using REST APIs, SDKs, and scripting, as well as SDLC and DevOps practices. Familiarity with Linux and Windows environments is also needed.

Additional Requirements

The person should be able to work independently, plan and prioritize tasks well, solve problems analytically, continuously improve processes through automation, and collaborate effectively with development, QA, and operations teams. Strong written and spoken English communication is expected.

Tools and Technical Strengths

Hands-on experience is needed in Jenkins-based pipeline development, including pipeline-as-code and shared libraries. Strong Python and scripting skills in Shell and Batch are important, along with the ability to create and maintain Jenkinsfiles and reusable pipeline components. Experience with Git, GitLab, IBM Rational Team Concert, Jira, REST API-based automation, and managing CI systems across multiple projects is also required.
