Role Overview

The Senior QA Automation Engineer will be responsible for building and strengthening automation capabilities across UI, API, performance, and broader testing needs. This role suits someone who can shape test architecture, improve quality engineering practices, and work closely with cross-functional technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, evolve, and support scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, performance, and related testing areas.
• Set and uphold coding standards and automation best practices across the test engineering setup.
• Write automated test scripts in Python using modern tools such as Playwright.
• Improve frameworks, investigate failures, and carry out root-cause analysis when automation breaks.
• Research and assess new automation approaches through analysis and proof-of-concept work.
• Connect automated tests with CI/CD workflows.
• Assess and adopt new automation methods, including AI-assisted testing capabilities.
• Partner with developers, QA, and DevOps teams to raise overall quality engineering maturity.
• Support and coach junior automation engineers through reviews and technical mentoring.
• Log defects, follow them through to closure, and confirm fixes are working as expected.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in QA automation and framework development, including work on intelligent automation for traditional and AI-enabled applications.
• Strong Python programming ability with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Practical experience with Playwright for UI automation.
• Experience using Requests or Rest Assured for API automation.
• Hands-on exposure to Pytest or BDD-style frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Good knowledge of automation framework structure and design patterns.
• Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot.
• Comfort working with distributed teams.
• Strong spoken and written English communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on work with Claude Code AI or similar tools, including AI-driven test generation, self-healing tests, and autonomous test execution platforms.
• Proven ability to build and maintain custom automation frameworks, including those that support AI-based decision-making.
• Exposure to the WATIR framework.

Eligibility

Applicants should hold a B.C.A. in any specialization or a B.Tech / B.E. in any specialization.
