Role overview

This position is based in Dublin, Ireland and follows a hybrid setup with two days in the office. The role reports to the Claims Manager and offers a salary range of €34,000 to €40,000. It is with a respected Irish insurer that is hiring a Motor Claims Handler and is open both to current claims professionals and to candidates from the wider insurance sector who want to move into claims. Key duties

  • Handle motor claims through the full lifecycle, owning each file from first notice to settlement within your delegated authority.
  • Collect the relevant details, review liability, and make informed settlement decisions.
  • Serve as the main contact for customers, brokers, and external service providers, supporting them clearly and professionally throughout the process.
  • Identify possible fraud signals and maintain precise, well-organised records.
  • Work collaboratively with teammates, assist with workload management, and contribute to a positive working culture.
  • Coordinate with loss adjusters, solicitors, and other third parties when required.
  • Take part in training, projects, and ongoing process improvement activities.

Candidate profile

  • Previous experience in claims handling or in the insurance industry, either with a broker or an insurer, is required.
  • APA (Personal & Commercial) or CIP qualification is mandatory.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed, along with good organisational ability.
