Role Overview

This is a full-time, on-site position in Doha, Qatar for a Coding for Kids Trainer. The role centers on delivering fun, age-appropriate coding sessions for children using tools such as Scratch, block-based programming environments, and beginner-friendly text-based languages like Python. The trainer will build lesson plans, create activities and projects, and adapt teaching approaches to suit different ages and learning preferences.

Key Duties

• Plan and deliver coding lessons that are engaging, age-appropriate, and easy for children to follow.
• Use kid-friendly platforms such as Scratch, block-based coding tools, and introductory Python to teach programming concepts.
• Develop lesson content, hands-on exercises, and project-based activities that reinforce learning.
• Adjust teaching methods to match different age groups, class levels, and learning styles.
• Track learner progress, offer helpful feedback, and support students in improving their skills.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom atmosphere.
• Work with academic coordinators to strengthen and update the curriculum.
• Share learner progress updates with parents or guardians when needed.
• Keep accurate records of attendance and student performance.
• Assist with coding workshops, camps, and promotional STEM activities for children.

Required Background

• Solid understanding of programming fundamentals such as logic, loops, conditionals, and variables.
• Familiarity with child-focused coding tools and beginner programming languages, including Scratch, block coding platforms, and introductory Python or similar.
• Proven ability to teach or mentor children in a classroom, training center, or similar setting.
• Skill in explaining technical ideas clearly through storytelling, examples, and practical activities.
• Experience creating lesson plans, projects, and assessments for different age groups and learning levels in STEM or coding.
• Strong communication, classroom management, and people skills.
• Capability to build an inclusive and supportive learning environment for diverse students.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or a related discipline; teaching or coding education certifications are a plus.
• Good organization and time management to handle multiple classes or batches and stay on schedule.
• Comfort using digital tools and learning platforms for teaching, assignments, and progress monitoring.
• Previous exposure to training centers, schools, coding bootcamps, or after-school programs is preferred.
• Experience in the GCC region is an added advantage.
