Role Overview

EY Malta works with major organizations, including financial services clients, on large-scale data transformation initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for data quality and data definition within assigned business domains, acting as the main point of ownership for ensuring standards are followed and data remains reliable.

This is a practical, hands-on position focused on bringing data governance into everyday work and helping teams rely on trusted data across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of data quality and data stewardship within designated domains.
• Track data quality indicators, identify issues, and report on trends.
• Create, update, and enforce business rules, standards, and control measures.
• Support investigation into recurring data problems and help determine root causes.
• Work with data owners, business subject matter experts, IT teams, and governance stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Contribute to data-related requirements linked to regulation, audit, and compliance when needed.
• Ensure changes to data are accurately reflected in metadata, lineage, and glossary documentation.

Skills and Experience

The position calls for a bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, data management, or a similar discipline, along with at least 3 years of experience in data management, data quality, or data governance.

You should understand data quality principles, data definitions, metadata, governance frameworks, lineage, and quality controls. Experience with governance or data management platforms is expected, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical teams.

Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, communication skills, and the capacity to translate requirements between business and technology groups are important for success in this role.

Certifications

Optional certifications include DAMA CDMP and Microsoft Purview Certification, or equivalent qualifications in similar data governance tools.
