Description de l'emploi
Company Overview
Chess Nomad is a lively, supportive network built for chess educators. It uses playful teaching methods, including mini-games, to make chess instruction easier to access, more engaging, and genuinely impactful. The organization’s purpose is to use chess as a pathway for building essential life skills, encouraging inventive thinking, and supporting self-discovery. With involvement in roadschool communities, Chess Nomad is contributing to new approaches in education by weaving chess ideas into varied learning settings.
The organization is founded on the belief that strong learning communities thrive when educators are trusted, encouraged, and given the freedom to try new approaches. Rather than focusing on fast classroom scaling, Chess Nomad invests in developing educators. Instead of fixed curricula or top-down growth, it uses chess as a hands-on thinking tool to help adults strengthen judgment, adaptability, and confidence in how they teach.
The approach is deliberately adaptable. Educators are invited to test ideas, improve their methods, and choose how involved they want to be over time. The work is centered on helping educators think clearly, respond with confidence, and use chess to teach broader abilities such as decision-making, pattern recognition, and reflection.
Role Summary
In this position, you will support educators by demonstrating flexible teaching methods, working with community members and influencers, and helping maintain open, constructive communication. There may occasionally be informal role-play or open-play interactions with children, but the main focus of the role is training and supporting adults.
Some educators may prefer to begin with a small number of sessions, while others may choose to take on a more involved role that includes contributing to program development or business growth. Support and direction are available for people who want it, without requiring everyone to follow one fixed path.
Chess Nomad is still developing, and this role reflects that stage. The objective is not rapid scaling or rigid standardization, but thoughtful growth through educator empowerment, stronger local learning communities, and continuous evolution based on practical experience.
Qualifications
Applicants should bring experience in education, teaching, or training, along with an interest in creative learning approaches. Strong speaking and presentation ability is important for connecting with students, educators, and community members. The role also calls for customer service skills to support participants and partners while building positive working relationships.
Chess knowledge is not a requirement or a preference; what matters more is an authentic interest in learning. Candidates should be comfortable working both on their own and alongside others in a hybrid-style environment. A background in education, learning design, or a closely related area is preferred.
Additional Information
This position is for the Atlanta Metropolitan Area and is an onsite contract role. The role is focused on training educators rather than standard classroom delivery. Occasional interaction with children may happen through informal play or role-play activities, but adult educator support remains the core responsibility.
The model is flexible and evolving, and team members may choose the depth of their involvement over time. Guidance is available, but there is no pressure to follow a single predefined route.
