Role summary

This is a full-time, on-site Grader Operator position in Adelaide, South Australia. The role centres on operating grader equipment to complete earthworks accurately and efficiently, including cutting, trimming, shaping, and finishing roadways, pads, and construction areas to the required levels and tolerances.

Key duties

Day-to-day work includes completing pre-start inspections, operating machinery safely, coordinating with supervisors and other machine operators, and keeping communication clear with the site team. You will also read and work from plans, use GPS or laser guidance where required, track site conditions, and ensure all work aligns with safety, environmental, and quality expectations. Supporting program deadlines, keeping equipment in good working order, and contributing to a cooperative team culture are also important parts of the role.

Qualifications and experience

Applicants should have proven grader operating experience in civil construction or earthmoving, including fine grading and work to tight levels. Confidence in understanding civil drawings, site plans, and job specifications is essential, and experience with GPS or laser-guided systems will be seen as an advantage.

A strong commitment to safe work practices is required, including pre-start checks, following site procedures, and meeting WHS requirements. A current driver’s licence is needed, while plant operator tickets and relevant certifications such as a grader ticket and White Card are highly desirable.
