The employer is an established international EPC contractor with more than 50 years of experience delivering large, complex projects across the world. Its portfolio includes energy projects in oil & gas, power and water, as well as marine, infrastructure, and defense & security work. A major oil and gas EPC project has been secured in the UAE, and the team is expanding with experienced professionals to support site-based execution.
Role Summary
An experienced HSE Engineer with ADNOC approval is required for the Abu Dhabi site team. The position focuses on driving health, safety, and environmental compliance, while ensuring the project follows ADNOC regulations and applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply a deep working knowledge of HSE risks, field practices, and safety behavior within oil and gas EPC environments.
- Provide leadership to HSE personnel, including HSE Engineers, Senior HSE Officers, and HSE Officers.
- Maintain a solid grasp of the HSE management system and related legal and regulatory requirements.
- Bring practical experience in audit planning, execution, and follow-up.
- Handle SSOW-related controls such as PTW, WMS, and risk assessments.
- Support the preparation of HSE plans and emergency response procedures and plans.
- Investigate incidents and use root cause analysis methods to identify and address underlying causes.
- Recognize H2S hazards and apply appropriate control measures.
- Communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written, with strong reading and writing ability.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and clear verbal and written communication.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or an HSE-related discipline from a recognized institution authorized to award degrees in the country of issue.
- NEBOSH IGC or an equivalent qualification, subject to approval by ADNOC Group; additional HSE certifications may be accepted at ADNOC Group’s discretion.
- Lead auditor certification in ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001, or an equivalent credential.
- Knowledge of incident investigation techniques.
- At least 15 years of experience in HSE, including a minimum of 3 years in a lead HSE role.
- Experience should be in oil and gas or petrochemical industries, or in construction, fabrication, installation, and/or commissioning projects or operations.
