The role offers close collaboration with senior estimators and project teams on complex infrastructure work across Canada. You will gain practical exposure to bridge building, rehabilitation work, marine structures, foundations, concrete structures, and other heavy civil projects.
Applicants who are organized, eager to learn, and interested in strengthening both technical and commercial knowledge of construction projects are encouraged to apply.
What You Will Do
- Examine contracts, specifications, drawings, and tender documents to understand the full project scope and requirements.
- Help complete quantity take-offs covering labour, equipment, materials, and subcontracted work packages.
- Assist in preparing cost estimates and bid submissions for infrastructure and construction assignments.
- Request and compare pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Support the identification of risks, missing scope items, and buildability concerns during the estimating stage.
- Keep bid files and estimating records accurate and well organized.
- Contribute to the preparation and submission of tender packages before closing deadlines.
What We Are Looking For
- A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.
- Recent graduates and candidates with limited professional experience are welcome.
- Any co-op, internship, field, project coordination, or estimating background in construction will be considered an advantage.
- A genuine interest in heavy civil, bridge, infrastructure, or industrial construction projects.
- Exposure to estimating tools, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or Bid2Win is helpful but not mandatory.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
Benefits and Growth
- Competitive pay package.
- Three weeks of vacation.
- Full medical and dental coverage.
- Guidance and mentorship from experienced estimators and project leaders.
- Defined career growth opportunities within a growing and established organization.
Additional Information
This position is open only to people who are currently residing in Canada and legally authorized to work in Canada. Applicants must secure any required Government of Canada work permits before applying. Submissions that do not meet these conditions will not be considered.
