This position sits within the Advisory line of service, under the FS X-Sector industry focus and the Operations specialism. The role belongs to the Investigations and Fact Finding practice in Fraud, Investigations and Regulatory Enforcement (FIRE). It is designed for a professional who can help identify control gaps, assess exposure to risk, and support responses to complex compliance and fraud-related issues.
The team works on matters involving suspicious activity, internal irregularities, whistleblower concerns, asset misuse, regulatory breaches, intellectual property infringement, and financial reporting fraud.

Core work
You will carry out client due diligence and help ensure compliance with financial crime and regulatory standards. The role involves reviewing client information, validating supporting documents, assessing risk, and maintaining accurate records throughout the lifecycle of the client relationship.
Key responsibilities
- Perform client due diligence by collecting and validating information such as identity details, source of funds, and beneficial ownership across entity types including banks, trusts, funds, SPVs, and similar structures.
- Review incoming client documentation and data for completeness and correctness before progressing the file.
- Use internal and external databases and research sources to confirm client information.
- Assess client risk by considering factors such as business activity, geography, and other relevant indicators.
- Run sanctions and adverse media checks using dedicated tools, then interpret the results to identify possible matches with restricted persons, entities, or jurisdictions.
- Keep KYC files, profiles, and monitoring records accurate and well organized.
- Support periodic and event-based account reviews as part of ongoing monitoring.
- Work with internal teams to resolve KYC issues and explain applicable regulatory requirements.
- Look for ways to improve KYC workflows, strengthen controls, and increase process efficiency.
- Stay current on changing expectations related to KYC, AML, and CFT.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related discipline.
- Three to six years of experience in KYC, AML compliance, or a similar role, preferably in banking.
- Strong working knowledge of BSA, AML, and KYC regulations.
- Solid understanding of financial products, services, and the regulatory landscape.
- Ability to analyze complex financial information and identify possible risks.
- Strong attention to detail, along with good organization and time management.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on experience with KYC platforms, databases, and software used for due diligence and risk review.
- Professional certifications such as CAMS or CFE are preferred.
- Experience with large banking or financial institutions is preferred.
- Knowledge of jurisdiction-specific regulatory expectations is preferred.
