Role Overview
The Logistics Assistant will support overseas warehousing and cross-border logistics operations for a consumer products business in the Greater Dusseldorf Area. This role focuses on shipment fulfillment, vendor coordination, inventory control, cost review, and issue resolution across the logistics chain.
Logistics Cost and Settlement
- Review supplier invoices and validate fulfillment records to make sure logistics charges are correct and justified before sending them for finance processing.
- Study logistics spending trends and help update the annual logistics budget.
Order Fulfillment Management
- Monitor the full fulfillment journey for overseas warehouse orders and help ensure timely, accurate delivery for Amazon, DTC, retail chain, and dealer orders.
- Keep order information synchronized accurately and respond quickly to fulfillment exceptions.
Logistics Vendor Management
- Coordinate and oversee service quality across the complete logistics flow, including customs clearance, port-to-warehouse delivery, inbound receiving, stock management, picking, outbound shipping, last-mile delivery, proof of delivery, and return transport.
- Assess logistics provider performance through KPI tracking and reallocate business volume based on results to encourage ongoing service improvement.
Exception Management
- Identify operational bottlenecks and logistics issues early, then work with teams such as Marketing, HQ Logistics, IT, and After-sales to resolve them quickly and close them out.
- Handle product returns and reverse logistics to improve customer experience and inventory efficiency.
Inventory and Warehouse Management
- Track inventory changes, analyze variances, and organize regular stock counts to keep system records aligned with physical inventory.
- Support warehouse process improvements and work with logistics partners to increase warehouse efficiency.
Additional Information
This is an onsite contract position based in the Greater Dusseldorf Area. The role involves cross-border logistics, overseas warehouse operations, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred, especially in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, Operations Management, or a similar discipline.
- At least 1 year of experience in cross-border logistics or overseas warehouse operations is required.
- Prior exposure to Amazon FBA/FBM, retail supply chain fulfillment, or overseas warehouse processes is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of international logistics, customs clearance, warehousing, last-mile delivery, and return handling is expected, along with experience managing logistics vendors.
- Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of SAP and WMS platforms are needed, together with strong data analysis ability.
- Good problem-solving, cross-functional coordination, and communication skills are essential.
- English communication skills suitable for everyday work are required.
- The role calls for someone who is responsible, resilient, and comfortable working under pressure.
