Role overview

We are looking for a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to join the supervision consultancy team on a major infrastructure project located around 100 km north of Jeddah. In this role, you will help keep the project financially controlled by handling quantity measurements, cost monitoring, and contract-related administration while staying aligned with all contractual and commercial obligations.

Core responsibilities

  • Examine contractor interim payment requests and confirm them against the work actually completed.
  • Take off, measure, and validate completed quantities using the project drawings and specifications.
  • Track project expenditure and manage cost changes and variations.
  • Review variation submissions, claims, and change requests from contractors and provide assessments.
  • Keep accurate documentation for quantities measured, records maintained, and payment certifications issued.
  • Contribute to budgeting, cost studies, and financial updates for the project.
  • Ensure all work follows the contract terms and the project’s commercial processes.
  • Assist the team with contract administration and broader commercial management activities.
  • Oversee works connected to road networks and multi-utility infrastructure, including potable water networks, firefighting systems, gas distribution, stormwater drainage, sanitary sewage, power distribution for MV and LV, street lighting, telecom infrastructure, irrigation, and landscape works.
  • Work closely with Resident Engineers, the planning team, and contractors to track progress and support cost control.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a closely related field.
  • At least 10 years of quantity surveying experience on infrastructure projects.
  • Strong hands-on exposure to roads and multi-utility infrastructure work.
  • Prior experience with engineering consultancy firms in a supervision role.
  • Sound understanding of measurement techniques, cost management, and contract administration.
  • Working familiarity with FIDIC-based contracts and commercial procedures.
  • Well-developed analytical thinking, negotiation ability, and report writing skills.
