Role Overview
The University of Georgia is hiring a full-time Security Guard II to support the safety and protection of people, property, and residential facilities across student housing communities in Athens. This role is part of University Housing within the Division of Student Affairs and focuses on maintaining secure living environments for more than 9,000 residents.
This position is classified as non-exempt and is treated as essential personnel, which means the employee may be required to report to work during emergencies, inclement weather, holidays, breaks, and other situations when the university is operating under modified conditions.
Work Schedule
The schedule for this role is 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Thursday through Monday. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are regular days off. Weekend work is included.
Key Duties
The security guard will carry out foot patrols, monitor residential buildings and surrounding grounds, respond to incidents, and document issues accurately. The role also involves professional interaction with students, staff, and campus partners, as well as supporting police officers and housing operations when needed.
Additional Employment Details
Annual pay for this position is listed at $45,000. The post was set to open on 06/25/2026, with a proposed start date of 08/01/2026. The vacancy remains open until filled.

Minimum Qualifications
