Track Maintenance Operator

Position overview

This role is responsible for carrying out track maintenance work as part of a team, with a focus on completing tasks safely, efficiently, and to the required standard.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned, corrective, urgent, and preventive maintenance and repair activities as needed.
• Perform spot re-railing when sections of rail need replacement or reinstatement.
• Complete spot re-sleepering work as part of track renewal and repair.
• Cut rail sections to the required size for maintenance tasks.
• Replace and repair turnouts as required.
• Remove sand and other obstructions from the track area.
• Support all other general track maintenance duties assigned by the team.

Qualifications

A school certificate or an equivalent qualification is required.

Professional requirements

The candidate should have recognized knowledge of track maintenance and hold a full driving license.

Experience

Relevant experience in the industry is expected.
