About the role

Jump Crypto, the crypto-focused arm of Jump Trading Group, is working to build essential infrastructure that can support the continued growth of the crypto ecosystem. The team combines building, partnering, and trading with a long-term view of open, community-led networks and plays a significant part in supporting several major crypto communities.

Jump Trading Group is a research-led quantitative trading firm and one of the largest trading firms by volume across traditional asset classes. The crypto team has expanded from its early origins as a small internal project into a mature group of high-performing specialists across multiple functions.

In this position, you will join a fast-moving trading team focused on studying, interpreting, and acting on global market opportunities. The role is suited to someone who wants to apply quantitative trading skills in a hands-on environment, contribute across different areas of the business, and learn from experienced traders and technologists. The schedule involves working 4 days per week, either Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday, supporting a 24/7 asset class.

Responsibilities

• Execute trading strategies and support day-to-day market activity.
• Keep track of positions and coordinate with clearing and operations teams to resolve trade mismatches and position breaks.
• Help develop and maintain the DevOps support toolkit for the live trading environment, including configuration, process handling, deployments, monitoring, data capture, and analysis.
• Investigate production trading issues and contribute to improving desk workflows and operating processes.
• Build working knowledge of quantitative trading activities, exchange trading setups, and related trading functions.
• Take ownership of team initiatives that go beyond routine trading coverage.
• Remain flexible and handle any additional duties as required.

Requirements

• Genuine interest in cryptocurrencies and familiarity with coins, exchanges, and the wider market is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Python, with the ability to read and write basic to moderately complex scripts.
• Comfort working in a Linux-based environment.
• Ability to juggle several tasks effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced setting.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Sound judgment and discretion in decision-making.
• Enjoys collaborating closely with a team.
• Minimum of 3 years of trading experience.
• Dependable and consistent availability.

Work schedule

This is a 4-day workweek role, with shifts arranged as either Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday.
