Role overview
Foodhub is looking for a highly experienced and forward-thinking Chief Technology Officer to own global technology strategy, platform evolution, and engineering leadership. This executive position is central to scaling the company’s technology foundation, encouraging innovation, and keeping products secure, dependable, and high-performing across all regions.
The CTO will work directly with the CEO and the wider leadership team to align technology priorities with commercial and business goals. The role also requires frequent international travel to support teams, coordinate strategy, and drive execution across Foodhub’s global footprint.
Technology strategy and leadership
- Create and implement a worldwide technology strategy that supports business objectives and expansion plans.
- Work with the CEO and executive team to shape long-term company direction and the innovation agenda.
- Make sure the technology stack can scale reliably and provide a competitive edge.
- Track market trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
Platform and product delivery
- Lead the design, build, and delivery of Foodhub’s core platform, products, and services.
- Ensure systems are resilient, scalable, and capable of supporting international operations.
- Set and promote strong practices in software engineering, architecture, and delivery quality.
- Collaborate with product and commercial teams to deliver solutions focused on customer needs.
Engineering and team leadership
- Build, guide, and scale a high-performing global engineering and technology organisation.
- Create a culture that values innovation, ownership, and ongoing improvement.
- Develop leadership strength across engineering teams in multiple regions.
- Attract, retain, and grow strong technical talent.
Infrastructure, security, and reliability
- Oversee the global technology infrastructure to maintain performance, scale, and uptime.
- Ensure strong cybersecurity, data protection, and compliance controls across all markets.
- Put in place strong DevOps, cloud, and monitoring practices.
- Manage technical risk and business continuity through effective governance.
Data and technology enablement
- Promote a culture of data-led decision-making across the business.
- Oversee data architecture, analytics capabilities, and platform integrations.
- Encourage the use of automation, AI, and other emerging technologies to improve efficiency and the customer experience.
Process, systems, and transformation
- Set up scalable development processes, tools, and frameworks.
- Lead technology transformation programmes that support growth and operational efficiency.
- Keep global teams, systems, and operating requirements aligned.
Financial and vendor management
- Manage technology budgets with a focus on efficient spend and strong return on investment.
- Assess and manage third-party suppliers, platforms, and strategic partnerships.
- Identify ways to reduce costs and improve technology ROI.
Required experience and qualifications
- Proven background as a CTO or senior technology leader in a large global organisation.
- Experience in food ordering, hospitality technology, marketplaces, or POS/EPOS is highly preferred.
- Strong track record of building and scaling customer-facing, high-availability platforms.
- Experience leading large distributed engineering teams across several regions.
- Deep knowledge of modern software architecture, cloud environments, and scalable systems.
- Demonstrated success leading technology change and innovation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity, data protection, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to align technology direction with commercial and operational goals.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including influence at executive and board level.
- Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Location and working arrangement
This is an on-site role based in Dublin, Ireland. Relocation is required if the successful candidate is not already based in Dublin.
