Role overview

As an EHS Specialist, you will help establish and strengthen a high-standard Environment, Health & Safety framework at the company’s new manufacturing site in Dubai. As one of the first EHS professionals on the site, you will partner closely with the Site EHS Manager to set up, roll out, and keep improving Eaton’s MESH (Management System for Environment, Safety & Health) standards.

You will work across teams as a trusted advisor, supporting compliance, training, and the development of a strong safety mindset from the beginning in a fast-moving and expanding environment.

Key responsibilities

• Join the new greenfield Dubai site as the first EHS hire and help shape the function from the outset.
• Support deployment of Eaton’s MESH global safety system across the plant.
• Work with operations as an EHS partner to strengthen safety culture and regulatory compliance.
• Create, update, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and related documentation.
• Lead risk assessments, audits, inspections, and incident investigations, including RCA and 8D analysis.
• Make sure the site follows UAE, JAFZA, and Trakhees requirements.
• Plan and deliver EHS training for employees and contractors.
• Help prepare the site for future EHS expansion and long-term growth.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, EHS, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in EHS within manufacturing or industrial settings.

Skills and knowledge

• NEBOSH IGC or an equivalent certification; Level 6 is preferred.
• Solid understanding of UAE EHS rules, with JAFZA and Trakhees knowledge preferred.
• Experience working with EHS management systems or implementing them.
• Strong capability in risk assessments and audits.
• Hands-on experience with incident investigation methods such as RCA and 8D.
• Ability to coordinate and deliver EHS training effectively.
• Working knowledge of machine safety, PPE, and contractor control.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a changing and fast-growing environment.
