Role overview

LoanTube Technologies India is hiring an Engineering Head / AWS Architect to join its core team in Gurugram. The position sits at the center of a fast-growing fintech marketplace used by hundreds of thousands of customers each month. The role combines hands-on backend engineering, architecture ownership, team leadership, and close partnership with product and business stakeholders, including the CEO.

The product is a real-rate loan comparison marketplace that helps users evaluate loan options with verified interest rates and monthly repayment details. The business currently operates in the UK, with plans to expand into the US in 2026. Most of the development team is based in India, with additional engineers working from the UK, US, and Brazil.

Important eligibility note: prior experience managing high-volume, event-driven architecture for a fintech or marketplace platform is required for this role.

What you will own

• Design and build backend services and APIs using Python, Java, and modern frameworks, with an emphasis on clean, maintainable, scalable, and testable code.
• Shape and operate a secure, highly available AWS-based infrastructure while also working in a cloud environment that includes GCP.
• Set up and improve CI/CD workflows, container-based deployments, orchestration, and configuration management using tools such as Docker, Kubernetes or Docker Swarm, and Ansible.
• Keep Linux/Ubuntu systems reliable by monitoring performance, applying upgrades, and tuning production environments.
• Strengthen platform security through sound IAM design, permissions management, and other production-grade safeguards.
• Work with relational and document databases, including Postgres, BigQuery, and MongoDB/Mongoose.
• Integrate third-party services and external APIs into the backend ecosystem and ensure the frontend team can consume data smoothly.
• Lead engineering execution by distributing work, reviewing code, improving processes, and helping shape hiring decisions.
• Translate business goals into technical plans in collaboration with product, leadership, and other internal stakeholders.

What we are looking for

• At least 10 years of backend engineering experience in high-volume, data-heavy technology companies, ideally in fintech or credit-related products.
• Strong grounding in data structures, algorithms, and scalable system design.
• Deep practical experience with Python or Java, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Proven success building distributed systems that are resilient, scalable, and high performing.
• Hands-on exposure to cloud infrastructure, especially AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, and S3, along with Docker-based environments.
• Good understanding of databases, caching, asynchronous workflows, messaging systems, and performance tuning.
• Working knowledge of engineering fundamentals such as SDLC, code reviews, CI/CD, observability, and production troubleshooting.
• Ability to lead technical design discussions and take full ownership of important backend services.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional work in distributed teams.
• Preferred background in fintech, lending, payments, or other high-throughput transactional systems.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and event-driven systems will be an added advantage.
• Leadership mindset, business awareness, comfort working fast, and enthusiasm for an in-office, five-day workweek.

Compensation and benefits

• Salary range: INR 15,00,000 to INR 30,00,000 per year.
