Role overview
This position is part of CoreOps Service Private Limited, the recently established Global Capability Center in Pune for Air Arabia. CoreOps Services Private Limited, a subsidiary of Air Arabia PJSC, supports global business operations for the Air Arabia group, including its parent organization, subsidiaries, joint ventures, and associates across the world. The function is designed to centralize, standardize, and simplify processes so the business runs more efficiently.
The Finance Controller will be responsible for managing core financial activities with emphasis on accounts payable, audit and control, reporting, compliance, banking, and reconciliations. The role is focused on maintaining accurate records, meeting regulatory requirements, and supporting healthy cash flow management, while also contributing ideas for better processes and stronger controls.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and keep financial statements and reports accurate and up to date to aid business decisions.
- Match bank records and general ledger balances, look into variances, and close them promptly.
- Work closely with Group Finance teams to keep accounting methods aligned and to build consolidated reports.
- Ensure adherence to local tax laws, GST return requirements, and corporate governance standards.
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice handling, payment planning, and vendor coordination.
- Make sure payments are completed on time, resolve payment-related issues, and retain documentation that is ready for audit checks.
- Handle daily cash management, cash projections, banking coordination, and liquidity planning.
- Partner with tax advisors to prepare and submit Income Tax Returns correctly and within deadlines.
- Assist internal and external audits by providing documentation on time and following accounting standards.
- Track updates in regulations and ensure financial reporting stays compliant with the latest requirements.
- Spot opportunities to automate work and improve overall efficiency.
- Serve as a communication link between the accounting team and group leadership to keep processes aligned.
- Maintain data accuracy in the Oracle Financial System.
- Review system-generated reports regularly, identify issues, and ensure corrections are made quickly.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- 4 to 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a similar position.
- Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, compliance, banking, and reconciliations.
- Hands-on experience with accounting platforms such as SAP or Oracle, along with advanced Excel capability.
- Clear communication skills for working with stakeholders and group management.
- Experience with Indian accounting practices.
- Background in India-based managed services or outsourcing is an added advantage.
- Ability to examine data, identify patterns, and support decisions with insights.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in reporting and reconciliations.
- Capability to resolve mismatches and put preventive controls in place.
