What You Will Do

You will manage device procurement, support operations, cybersecurity processes, and broader IT planning. You will also act as the main escalation point for technology issues and help drive improvements across systems, documentation, and workflow automation.

Device Procurement and Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee the full purchasing process for hardware such as laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals, along with related software licenses.
  • Keep asset records current and enforce equipment lifecycle rules, including refresh schedules and retirement of old devices.
  • Review suppliers, negotiate contract terms, and manage spend while making sure equipment meets performance standards.
  • Handle the onboarding and offboarding flow for devices, using Jamf to automate setup and configuration.

Technical Support

  • Act as the senior escalation contact for IT issues and drive quick resolution of hardware, software, and connectivity problems.
  • Improve and maintain the helpdesk ticketing process, SLA tracking, and support materials.
  • Administer core platforms such as Google Workspace, Okta SSO, and collaboration tools, including user access, groups, and application connections.
  • Create and update runbooks and knowledge base content to increase self-service and reduce repetitive tickets.
  • Support IT coordination for employee onboarding and offboarding.

Cybersecurity

  • Run day-to-day security controls for endpoint protection, encryption, access management, and multi-factor authentication through Okta, using recognized frameworks such as CIS Controls.
  • Track vulnerabilities and ensure patching activities are completed on time, escalating risks to the right stakeholders.
  • Organize security awareness training and phishing simulation exercises for employees.
  • Record, handle, and escalate security incidents as needed, including root-cause analysis and leadership or MSSP involvement.
  • Help with compliance work tied to frameworks and regulations such as SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR by maintaining documentation and completing assigned steps.
  • Maintain regular working relationships with cybersecurity vendors and managed security service providers.

IT Strategy and Operations

  • Support annual IT budget planning by supplying data on headcount, license consumption, and hardware needs, while partnering with Finance and HR on future cost planning.
  • Find opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and better tooling.
  • Work with department leaders to understand business needs and convert them into practical IT initiatives.
  • Keep disaster recovery and business continuity plans current and effective.

Required Experience and Background

The ideal candidate brings 3 to 6 years of progressive IT experience, including 1 to 2 years in an IT manager or lead position.
