Role Summary
The Line Cook position is a full-time, on-site role in Strathmore, AB. In this role, you will prepare and cook menu items using standard recipes and presentation standards, while keeping portions consistent and quality high. The job includes station setup, stocking, food preparation, safe use of kitchen equipment, and keeping the work area clean and organized throughout each shift. You will also help uphold food safety and sanitation practices, keep pace with ticket flow during rush periods, and coordinate with both kitchen and front-of-house staff. Additional support may be needed for stock rotation, delivery receiving, and menu specials or changes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes and plating standards.
- Set up, organize, and replenish assigned kitchen stations before and during service.
- Carry out food preparation tasks and operate kitchen equipment safely.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and overall organization across the work area.
- Follow food safety procedures and basic health regulations at all times.
- Manage multiple orders efficiently and keep up with ticket timing during busy service.
- Work in coordination with kitchen and front-of-house colleagues to support smooth service.
- Assist with inventory rotation, delivery intake, and preparation for specials or menu updates when required.
Requirements
- Background in a restaurant kitchen or comparable line-cooking environment.
- Solid food preparation and cooking skills.
- Good understanding of sanitation standards, food safety, and basic health compliance.
- Ability to stay productive in a high-pressure, fast-moving kitchen.
- Careful attention to detail, especially when handling several orders at once.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management abilities.
- Reliable, professional work style.
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
- Previous experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or in a similar position is preferred.
- Culinary education or certification is a plus, but not mandatory.
