Role overview
This position focuses on keeping an assigned manufacturing line performing efficiently and producing to quality standards. The role involves using data-driven problem solving, process improvement methods, and root-cause analysis to raise throughput, reduce waste, and improve line stability.
Key responsibilities
- Track the quality and efficiency of the assigned production line or lines and look for practical improvements.
- Work to optimize output while reducing downtime during changeovers, including supporting common setup approaches where possible.
- Review machine data to improve equipment utilization and cut down on machine-related scrap.
- Suggest cost-saving ideas by simplifying workflows, processes, and systems.
- Develop and keep updated wave and reflow soldering profiles.
- Make sure process settings stay within acceptable limits and deliver solder quality that meets IPC-610B or another relevant standard.
- Plan and arrange production tooling such as stencils, vacuum plates, wave solder pallets, and product-specific fixtures and jigs.
- Help coordinate line changes and machine relocation work, including equipment delivery, placement, installation, and support-group scheduling through the approved communication process.
- Check that scheduled maintenance is completed on the assigned line or lines.
- Promote clear communication and information sharing within the manufacturing engineering team and across support departments.
- Follow all safety, health, and security policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- About 1 to 2 years of relevant experience is expected, or an equivalent mix of education and work experience.
- Ability to analyze production data and use systematic problem-solving methods.
- Knowledge of process control, soldering processes, and manufacturing line operations.
- Comfort working with cross-functional support teams and coordinating operational activities.
- Understanding of safety and company security compliance requirements.
