Role overview
This contract role sits within a major mining expansion initiative in British Columbia and focuses on commercial and procurement support for a wide range of service-based packages. The assignment covers the full sourcing and contract lifecycle for engineering, consulting, studies, logistics, transportation, warehousing, equipment support, and specialist project services.
You will work in a highly visible position alongside project leaders, technical specialists, logistics teams, contractors, and suppliers to help commercial arrangements align with schedule, cost, and delivery goals. The engagement is based on site and is suited to someone who can operate confidently in a fast-paced, complex project environment.

Key duties
- Own the full sourcing and contracting process for project service packages.
- Create procurement and contracting approaches that fit the wider project plan.
- Prepare and release RFx documents for service-related tenders.
- Coordinate supplier communications, clarifications, and commercial bid assessments.
- Run commercial negotiations and prepare award recommendations.
- Draft and manage Master Service Agreements, Service Agreements, and Service Orders.
- Handle amendments, variations, and extensions over the life of each contract.
- Support logistics and business readiness teams on transport, warehousing, and equipment commercial needs.
- Check invoices and assist with contract payment activities.
- Develop productive relationships with service providers so expectations and performance standards are clear.
- Look for ways to improve value, lower cost, and strengthen project outcomes.
- Work effectively within stage-gate project requirements and related deadlines.
Candidate profile
- A degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Finance.
- At least 5 years of experience in procurement, contracts, project commercial, or supply chain roles.
- Background supporting major capital projects in mining, resources, energy, infrastructure, industrial, or construction settings.
- Proven ability to negotiate and administer service contracts.
- Solid understanding of procurement stages such as sourcing, tendering, evaluation, and contract administration.
- Capability to develop commercial strategies for complex initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
- Commercial judgment paired with strong analytical ability.
- Advanced negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Experience using ERP and project commercial tools such as SAP, SAP Ariba, Aconex, Contruent, or similar systems.
- Confident with the Microsoft Office suite.
