Role overview

This permanent Project Manager position is based in Galway, County Galway, Ireland and offers full benefits. The role focuses on leading several cross-department product development programs across multiple product lines, including work that requires vendor coordination and contract administration. You will be accountable for end-to-end project planning, collaboration across functions, risk oversight, and delivery of milestones from early concept through worldwide launch and the stabilization phase after launch.

Key duties

The position involves shaping project scope and goals, building practical roadmaps, and converting company strategy into clear execution plans. It also includes guiding project teams, encouraging teamwork, handling budgets, forecasting spend, and allocating resources across several initiatives. A key part of the role is maintaining strong communication with senior leaders and stakeholders, managing expectations, and ensuring projects progress smoothly from concept to commercialization.

You will also be expected to create and maintain integrated master plans that cover technical, regulatory, quality, supply chain, and commercial workstreams. The role requires close coordination of inputs from Engineering, Regulatory, Quality, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams, while keeping programs aligned with the business case and launch targets.

Additional responsibilities include monitoring dependencies on the critical path, escalating risks or delays early, coordinating regulatory submission timelines with development schedules, ensuring documentation is ready for stage-gate reviews, and aligning plans with requirements across multiple markets. You will also manage scope changes, supplier-related changes, and regulatory impacts, while overseeing design updates after launch and sustaining activities as needed. Structured change control with Quality must be maintained throughout the program. When projects close, you will support the transition into sustaining lifecycle management and document lessons learned to improve future development cycles.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related discipline. A minimum of 4 years’ experience managing several complex cross-functional product development programs is required. Prior exposure to regulated sectors such as medical devices, supplements, cosmetics, or similar industries is preferred.

Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall delivery methods is needed, along with a solid grasp of design control processes. Professional certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 is preferred. The role also calls for advanced use of MS Project, Jira, or Smartsheet, strong critical-path planning skills, and a clear ability to manage risk. Strong conflict resolution skills, the ability to work across multiple product categories, and high proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook are essential. Excellent written and spoken English, the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, and comfort working in a fast-moving environment while handling multiple projects at once are also important.
