Overview

This opportunity is for a QA Engineer based in Germany and is presented on behalf of a partner company that handles applications and the rest of the hiring process. The role is fully remote and centers on protecting product quality for a modern technology platform. You will be responsible for validating releases, finding defects early, and strengthening the reliability, stability, and performance of the product. The position blends exploratory and manual testing with automation work, giving you direct influence on user experience and release confidence.

What you will do

Take full ownership of testing and validation for new releases so that features and updates meet quality expectations before launch.
Carry out broad manual testing across applications, APIs, command-line tools, backend services, and customer-facing journeys.
Run test cases in local, staging, and pre-production setups to uncover defects, inconsistencies, and performance concerns.
Document issues thoroughly with clear reproduction steps, expected and actual results, logs, screenshots, and other supporting proof.
Work closely with engineers to understand changes, focus testing where it matters most, confirm fixes, and help prepare releases for production.
Build and maintain automation for repeatable quality checks, including end-to-end, smoke, and regression coverage.
Help improve release checklists, testing documentation, and QA practices that support stronger software reliability.
Track application behavior across versions to make sure key workflows stay stable after updates.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate has prior experience in quality assurance, software testing, release validation, or a closely related area. You should be confident in manual testing practices such as designing test cases, spotting defects, reproducing bugs, and writing clear issue reports. Experience with technical products like APIs, backend systems, infrastructure components, developer tools, or distributed applications is important. Comfort using command-line tools, logs, scripts, local environments, and staging environments is also needed. Familiarity with automated testing approaches, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing, along with scripting, will be valuable.

We are also looking for someone with strong analytical ability, good problem-solving skills, and a sharp eye for detail. Clear communication and the ability to work smoothly with technical teams are essential. A strong sense of ownership and a commitment to maintaining high release standards are key to success in this role.

Nice to have

Experience with blockchain systems, financial platforms, distributed architectures, databases, cloud environments, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, or API testing tools would be an advantage. Knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as Python, TypeScript, Go, Rust, or Bash is a plus.
