Restaurant General Manager

Role overview

This position is for an accomplished Restaurant General Manager to oversee a Vancouver restaurant and help expand the business through strong hospitality, a vibrant environment, and consistently high-quality food and beverage service. The operation includes a 150-seat venue with a full-service dining room, lounge, and bar serving lunch and dinner.

Key responsibilities

• Be present in the restaurant during important meal rushes to deliver consistently strong guest experiences.
• Strengthen the regular customer base and help the restaurant build its reputation in the local market.
• Hire, train, and lead core team members who contribute positively and meet operational expectations.
• Create and maintain the right pace and atmosphere to support an upbeat, energetic dining experience.
• Ensure service is prompt, polished, and responsive to what guests want and expect.
• Set and uphold standards for food and beverage quality while keeping ticket times efficient.
• Plan and execute marketing and promotional activities through multiple channels to drive covers and improve seat fill across service periods.
• Regularly monitor the market for pricing shifts, competitive activity, and other changes in the local landscape.
• Implement policy updates and operational initiatives as directed by senior leadership.

Experience and requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a senior management or general manager role within a respected local restaurant business.
• Proven ability to guide, develop, and inspire a team.
• Hands-on experience with marketing and promotions in food and beverage operations.

Additional information

This is a full-time, permanent role based on-site in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Compensation starts at CA$90,000 per year.
