Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and oversee civil projects within the plant, including modifications to existing buildings, expansions, and new construction.
• Prepare BOQs, cost estimates, technical specifications, and documentation needed for government approvals and PR submissions, and verify work and bills.
• Work closely with contractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure timelines are met.
• Ensure civil work follows GMP expectations, cleanroom standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Look after the upkeep of civil assets across manufacturing areas, cleanrooms, warehouses, utility sections, and administrative buildings.
• Carry out periodic checks for structural safety, leakages, cracks, and other signs of deterioration.
• Plan and manage both preventive and breakdown maintenance tasks.
• Arrange and execute civil support activities required during machine shifting.
• Ensure all civil work complies with cGMP and internal quality standards.
• Maintain documentation related to work permits, change control, and deviations.
• Support qualification activities for new or modified facility changes.
• Supervise contractor work to confirm quality and compliance with scope.
• Enforce safe work practices in line with EHS guidelines.
• Check contractor bills and confirm completion against the agreed scope of work.
• Maintain AutoCAD drawings and as-built records.
• Coordinate with QA, Production, Engineering, and EHS teams as needed.
• Support internal, regulatory, and customer audits.
• Handle civil coordination for HVAC zones and cleanroom integrity.
• Ensure effective drainage and water management systems.
• Assist with civil support for utility areas such as boiler rooms and AHU rooms.

Qualifications and experience

The required education is B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering. The expected experience is 7 to 10 years, preferably in a pharmaceutical or other regulated environment, with OSD exposure preferred.
