The organization is made up of a 600+ person team spread across 6 European countries. It promotes an inclusive culture, with women representing 50% of its executive committee, and is supported by investors such as ISAI, Serena Capital, Eurazeo Growth, Goldman Sachs, and BPI.

The company’s purpose is to give people greater freedom in how they work.

Role overview

The Global Community team focuses on identifying and activating high-value freelancers, strengthening their engagement, improving their experience, and supporting company growth. In this role, you will help expand platform adoption and build long-term community loyalty among key freelancers in the UAE.

You will serve as the local link between the global strategy and the UAE market, leading relevant programs and local events that generate measurable business impact.

Key responsibilities

  • Take ownership of growing a strong, high-quality freelancer ecosystem by connecting with top profiles through events, content, portfolio management, and direct interactions such as calls and business meetings, with the goal of turning them into brand advocates.
  • Create and deliver a UAE-focused event calendar and content plan, including newsletters and articles, to energize the community and position Malt at the center of the local freelance landscape.
  • Work closely with internal teams to align community initiatives with sales priorities and ensure each program contributes to local business results.
  • Build partnerships with relevant local organizations such as chambers of commerce and freelance permit providers, while tracking community performance and sharing insights to improve outcomes over time.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications and brings at least 3 years of experience in Sales, Project Management, or a comparable field.

You should also have around 5 years of experience in the Middle East, preferably in the UAE, along with a strong understanding of the region’s market dynamics and cultural context.

This position suits someone with a commercial mindset who can connect community work to business goals and demonstrate clear return on investment.

Strong project management capability is important, including the ability to plan major events and coordinate complex communication initiatives from start to finish.

You should be highly organized, able to work independently, and comfortable taking full responsibility for your scope while proactively proposing improvements and new ideas.

A genuine service-oriented approach and the ability to build trusted professional relationships with freelancers are essential.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, and you should be able to create strong messaging across different channels.

Professional English fluency is mandatory. French and/or Arabic is a strong plus.

Interview process

  • Introductory conversation with the Talent Acquisition Partner, Esra, to discuss your background, goals, and questions. This stage lasts 30–45 minutes.
  • Track-record interview to review your experience and the responsibilities in more depth. This stage lasts 60 minutes.
  • Case study with two managers, including a 30-minute presentation and a 30-minute discussion.
  • Final discussion with a C-level leader and the Global Head of Community about the company’s long-term direction.
  • You will be invited to the Dubai office to meet the team.

Working model and benefits

The role follows a hybrid setup, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

Before fully settling into the position, you will spend your first week in the Paris office learning about the company culture, products, and services together with other new joiners.

Annual leave is 30 days per year.

After 3 years with the company, you become eligible for a 1-month paid sabbatical.

Every employee receives stock options.

Private health insurance is provided.

Employees can request books related to their professional development, and the company will cover them without requiring approval.

Because the Dubai office is newly launched, the local benefits package is still being developed.
