Role Overview
This position sits within the Data Warehouse and BI team and is centered on strengthening a modern analytics platform that already supports organization-wide reporting. The role is highly hands-on and combines report building, model enhancement, and keeping the production analytics environment reliable. It is well suited to someone who enjoys working through complex data issues and turning inconsistent source data into dependable business reporting.
What You Will Do
- Create, maintain, and enhance Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and alerts across finance, operations, inventory, dispatch, and vendor management.
- Use advanced SQL on Snowflake to explore data, build models, and answer operational and strategic questions.
- Develop and improve dbt models that standardize data coming from multiple ERPs into one consistent schema.
- Design data structures that are scalable and easy for the organization to consume and use effectively.
- Normalize different source-system definitions such as chart of accounts, item masters, customer and vendor records, and transaction types to support true like-for-like comparison.
- Work with teams across the business to gather requirements, understand operational needs, and convert questions into dependable reporting.
- Identify patterns, anomalies, and process improvement opportunities from the data and share them proactively.
- Track Fivetran connectors, dbt execution, and Power BI refreshes, and troubleshoot data quality or pipeline issues when they occur.
- Handle ad hoc data requests that support day-to-day and strategic decision-making.
- Keep data definitions, models, and report logic clearly documented so knowledge remains accessible across the team.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional experience in data analysis, analytics engineering, or BI development.
- Very strong SQL capability, including CTEs, window functions, indexing, stored procedures, performance tuning, and debugging complex joins in large datasets.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and scalable data design.
- Advanced Power BI knowledge, including DAX, data modeling, calculation groups, alerting, and operational integrations such as Power Apps.
- Experience with Power BI performance tuning, row-level security, and report design best practices.
- Familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or OneLake and with modern ELT practices.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build trust across different business stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setup and make progress without close day-to-day supervision.
- Forward-looking approach with practical use of AI tools to speed up analytics work, including model development, DAX writing, documentation, code review, and stakeholder communication.
Benefits
- 10 paid holidays each year.
- Flexible time off.
- 401(k) plan with company match.
- Health, dental, and vision insurance.
- HSA and FSA options.
- Disability and occupational accident insurance.
- Company-paid life insurance.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
- Paid training designed to build long-term career skills and growth.
Additional Information
This is a remote full-time role based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The work involves collaborating closely with stakeholders from operations, finance, dispatch, inventory, vendor management, and other areas to improve reporting and business insight. The role also requires comfort with reconciling messy, inconsistent source systems and creating a sanitized, harmonized view of the data for company-wide use.
Who Can Apply
Professionals with at least 2 years of relevant experience in data analysis, analytics engineering, or BI development, and who can work remotely with strong stakeholder management and technical analytics skills, are a fit for this role.
