Role overview
This position sits in the space where AI infrastructure, customer engineering, and developer tools meet. The company is building a secure runtime layer that enables AI systems and developers to execute code in isolated cloud sandboxes through an API, without affecting production environments. Its customers include fast-growing AI startups as well as large engineering organisations.
The role is based in Singapore and is open to candidates who are already there or are willing to relocate.
What the role involves
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work directly between the product team and technical customers using the platform. This is a hands-on, customer-facing technical role rather than a conventional support position.
You will help customers understand sandbox performance, debug integrations, connect the product to CI/CD workflows, and navigate the platform across APIs, SDKs, CLI tools, and AI coding environments. The role calls for someone who can join a customer call, analyse the issue, reproduce it, inspect or write code when needed, and collaborate with engineering to resolve it.
The position is well suited to someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working closely with customers, and operating in a fast-moving early-stage infrastructure environment.
Key responsibilities
You will serve as the primary technical point of contact for enterprise customers in the region, guiding them from onboarding through integration, adoption, and expansion.
Your work will include investigating and reproducing customer issues across APIs, SDKs, CLI tools, and sandbox infrastructure, as well as creating minimal reproduction examples that help engineering teams identify root causes faster.
You will support customers as they integrate the platform into CI/CD pipelines, AI coding workflows, and agentic systems, while also answering questions about performance, reliability, sandbox behaviour, and overall platform capability.
You will translate customer feedback into clear input for product and engineering teams, participate in technical scoping conversations with prospective enterprise customers, identify recurring issues, and turn them into actionable product insights. Clear communication with developers, engineering leaders, and non-technical stakeholders is an essential part of the job.
What you need
The role calls for at least 3 years of experience in forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, field engineering, developer advocacy, or senior technical support.
You should be comfortable reading, writing, debugging, and reasoning through production-grade customer environments, with practical exposure to REST APIs, SDKs, and CLI tooling.
A solid grasp of containers, cloud infrastructure, Docker, sandboxing, or compute environments is important, along with strong written and spoken English and the ability to manage several customer conversations at once without losing momentum.
You should be able to work effectively in a distributed, remote-first team and have an interest in AI coding tools, agentic workflows, and developer infrastructure. You also need the judgement to know when to resolve an issue independently and when to involve engineering.
Nice to have
Experience with Go, Python, or TypeScript would be helpful. Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud-native deployments, developer relations, open source, technical writing, PostgreSQL, database debugging, observability tools, logs, traces, metrics, or GDPR/data residency requirements would also be an advantage.
