Frontend Web Developer - HTML, CSS

Role Summary

This contract opportunity is for a Frontend Web Developer focused on HTML and CSS. The position is remote and can be performed from anywhere, supporting one of the client’s web initiatives.

What You’ll Do

You will create and support responsive user-interface elements, keep layouts consistent across browsers and devices, and convert design files into working front-end components. The work also includes improving usability, performance, and accessibility for a high-traffic web platform.

Responsibilities

• Build and update front-end components using HTML, CSS, and related tools.
• Make sure interfaces render correctly across browsers and screen sizes.
• Work with designers to turn mockups into accurate, production-ready UI.
• Apply performance and accessibility best practices to front-end code.
• Take part in code reviews and contribute to shared development standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS, including semantic markup.
• Solid grasp of responsive and mobile-first design approaches.
• Exposure to CSS preprocessors such as SASS or LESS, or utility/framework tools like Bootstrap or Tailwind.
• Comfort using browser developer tools for inspection and debugging.
• Ability to implement visual designs from Figma, Sketch, or similar design software.

This assignment is with a client in the Technology, Information and Internet space, and the work will contribute to scalable, user-friendly web applications. The project centers on front-end work for a platform with significant traffic.

Compensation

Pay for this contract role is set at $30 to $80 per hour.
