About the role

Letterboxd is hiring a QA Engineer to strengthen the quality, reliability, and usability of its products. The role is ideal for someone with solid manual testing experience who likes to think critically about product quality, spot risks early, and help teams make confident decisions about releases.

You will partner closely with Engineering to validate new features, product improvements, and fixes, while championing a strong user experience and maintaining a high standard of quality across the platform. The position calls for strong judgement, attention to detail, and a practical, collaborative mindset.

What you'll do

• Design and carry out manual testing for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
• Build clear test plans and record test cases so testing remains consistent and repeatable.
• Run functional, regression, exploratory, and acceptance testing, mainly for web and mobile products.
• Confirm bug fixes and check that issues have been resolved properly.
• Test with real user behaviour, usage patterns, and edge cases in mind.
• Evaluate whether releases are ready, identify quality risks, and help guide release decisions.
• Support release workflows by checking changes as they progress through environments.
• Investigate issues, reproduce bugs, and document them clearly for developers.
• Collaborate closely with the broader engineering team to uphold quality across web and mobile platforms.
• Share QA findings and help improve testing processes over time.
• Contribute to planning discussions, team debriefs, and knowledge sharing.

About you

You are someone who takes pride in catching problems before users encounter them, thinks carefully about how products behave in the real world, and enjoys helping teams ship with confidence.

What you'll bring

• At least 3 to 5+ years of experience in QA or software testing, with a strong emphasis on manual testing.
• Hands-on experience testing both web and mobile applications.
• Strong ability in functional, regression, exploratory, and acceptance testing.
• Confidence creating test plans, documenting test cases, and reproducing bugs clearly.
• A strong sense of responsibility for product quality and release confidence.
• Good judgement and the ability to weigh quality, risk, and delivery timelines.
• Excellent attention to detail with a practical, delivery-oriented approach.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Analytical testing ability, including spotting edge cases and unusual behaviour.
• Solid understanding of how web and mobile applications work and how systems connect.
