Software Developer (Frontend)

About the Role

DSTA’s Command, Control and Communications Development (C3D) Programme Centre builds software that supports mission planning and monitoring for the SAF and government agencies. This frontend-focused role is for someone who enjoys solving hard technical problems and wants to contribute to systems that sit at the core of operational decision-making.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary product and engineering environment working on software that is meaningful, complex, and designed to help teams respond effectively to evolving threats.

Project Exposure: The team delivers work across experimentation and operational systems for Air, Land, Sea, and Whole-of-Government domains. Key Responsibilities

You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to shape and deliver software that has real operational value. The role involves contributing to system design, frontend development, automated delivery, and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.

Additional Information

This position may be considered for a Senior Software Developer role if the candidate brings more than 2 years of relevant experience.

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another related discipline is required.

Required Knowledge and Mindset

The role calls for familiarity with frontend and broader application technologies, along with a strong grasp of software fundamentals and a genuine interest in continuous learning.

Bonus Experience

Exposure to Agile practices, software development life cycles, frontend build tooling, DevSecOps, CI/CD, Git, secure coding, and cybersecurity will be an advantage.
