The energy field store division serves customers in the energy sector with a focused product offering, while the steel distribution business sells steel in large volumes to service centers and major equipment manufacturers, mainly on an as-is basis.

Role Overview

The London, Ontario branch is looking to hire a full-time, permanent AZ Truck Driver. This is a safety-sensitive position, and the selected candidate must complete pre-employment medical and drug screening. The shift begins at 5:00 am, with overtime payable after 8 hours per day. There are no overnight runs and no weekend work. This is a newly created vacancy.

What the Role Involves

• Follow all Ministry of Transportation rules and requirements while on the job.
• Inspect the truck and the load carefully before and during transport.
• Secure materials properly with straps so they can be moved safely.
• Drive the vehicle in a safe manner and comply with local traffic and operating rules.
• Keep logs and records in line with Ministry of Transportation standards and company procedures.
• Use company-provided electronic and communication devices in a courteous and professional way.
• Present yourself professionally and deal respectfully with customers.
• Complete delivery and work tasks according to customer expectations and required timelines.
• Coordinate with the transportation and shipping team about delivery delays or questions.
• Carry out all assigned duties safely and as instructed by management.
• Maintain a professional and respectful approach in all work activities.
• Take on any additional duties assigned by management.
• Attend all company-directed Smart Drive training and coaching sessions.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A valid driver’s abstract is required.
• Completion of Grade 12 or an equivalent level of education.
• A minimum of three years of clean and safe driving history.
• Strong ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Experience operating a flatbed or slider kit will be considered an asset.

Pay and Benefits
