Role Overview

The Backend Engineering Lead is responsible for shaping, designing, and delivering scalable backend platforms and enterprise microservices. The role focuses on building modern cloud-native solutions with Java, Spring Boot, and architecture patterns that support performance, reliability, and growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain enterprise-grade microservices with Spring Boot.
• Contribute to architectural choices and make sure solutions follow engineering best practices.
• Connect applications with APIs, data sources, and cloud-native platforms.
• Review code quality and guide junior engineers through mentoring.
• Improve system speed, stability, and security across backend services.
• Investigate production incidents and implement effective fixes.
• Make sure digital products meet security, performance, and accessibility standards.
• Support the growth of squad members and help develop a strong backend services community.
• Assess new technologies and advise when they should be adopted.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related discipline.
• Hands-on expertise with Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Practical experience with microservices, REST APIs, and CI/CD workflows.
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems.
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments.
• Experience in Agile settings and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Strong background in modern system architecture and associated technical practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder coordination abilities.
