Job Summary

The cleaner will handle daily general cleaning across key areas of the facility, including washrooms, locker rooms, offices, cafeterias, boardrooms, and executive offices.

Key Duties

  • Keep offices, washrooms, locker rooms, cafeterias, boardrooms, and executive offices clean and presentable.
  • Vacuum, sanitize toilets, sinks, counters, and tables, replenish consumables, mop floors, and dust work areas.
  • Collect garbage, cardboard, and secure paper recycling.
  • Refill lunchroom and servery supplies such as cups, creamers, napkins, coffee, sugar, and tea.
  • Clean glass doors and turnstiles when needed.
  • Escalate environmental or health and safety concerns as required.
  • Carry out other daily tasks assigned by the supervisor or delegate.
  • Clean the plant area when needed.
  • Escort visitors when required.
  • Provide coverage during vacations for other facilities staff.
  • Work collaboratively and contribute to a strong team environment.
  • Stay flexible, approachable, and ready to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Handle smock-duty tasks as needed, including filing, recording, and following up on ordered smocks for new, current, and departing employees each week.
  • Act as the contact person for Northern Uniform.
  • Check Northern Uniform invoices for accuracy and send them to Accounts Payable for processing.
  • Order kitchen and cleaning supplies.
  • Follow all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures, and report hazards, incidents, and concerns to management.

Experience and Education

  • At least 2 years of cleaning experience is preferred.
  • A high school diploma is preferred.

Working Conditions

  • The role requires shift rotation and overtime when business needs demand it.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
  • The work involves handling varied workloads and changing conditions.
  • Intercom pages must be answered within 5 minutes.
  • There may be exposure to sensitive information, so confidentiality is essential.
  • A positive attitude is expected at all times.
  • Work must be completed independently with limited supervision.
  • Exposure to both hot and cold environments is part of the job.
