Role overview
Habermehl Contracting Ltd. is hiring a Construction Assistant Manager in Bedford, Nova Scotia. This role supports day-to-day construction operations, helps coordinate crews and subcontractors, and contributes to planning, budgeting, and project execution. The position is based at the worksite and must be performed in person.
Language requirement
English is required for this role.
Education
A secondary school graduation certificate is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
The employer is looking for someone with 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience.
Work arrangement
This is an on-site position only. The work must be completed at the physical location, with no remote work option.
Key duties
- Oversee and coordinate subcontractor activities.
- Review how daily operations are running and identify what needs attention.
- Organize and schedule day-to-day construction activities.
- Prepare and provide construction project budget estimates.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Develop and monitor budgets for assigned work.
- Estimate the materials, tools, and equipment needed for projects.
Supervision
This role involves supervising working groups.
Technology and software knowledge
Working familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Access, MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Word, and SharePoint is expected.
