About the role
INCT NanoAgro - Nanotecnologia para Agricultura Sustentável is hiring a part-time Entry / Junior Data Analyst in Melbourne, Victoria, with a blend of onsite work and some flexibility to work from home. The position supports research and operations focused on sustainable agriculture and nanotechnology.
What you’ll do
In this role, you will help gather, clean, check, and organize data from research and operational sources. You will also contribute to building simple data models, performing statistical analysis, and turning findings into easy-to-understand reports and charts for internal teams.
- Support the collection, cleansing, and validation of research and operational datasets.
- Build and maintain basic data models.
- Run statistical analyses and prepare visual summaries and reports.
- Assist senior colleagues in interpreting experimental data.
- Track key performance indicators and help improve reporting and data quality processes.
- Work with cross-functional teams and document methods, findings, and analysis steps.
- Use insights from data to support scientific and business decision-making.
What we’re looking for
The ideal candidate has a strong analytical approach and can make sense of complex information to produce practical insights. You should have early-stage experience in analytics and be comfortable working with common tools such as Excel, Python, or R.
- Hands-on exposure to data cleaning, transformation, and visualization.
- Working knowledge of statistics, including descriptive methods, hypothesis testing, and regression basics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Interest in or exposure to data modeling, relational databases, and simple predictive approaches.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and pay close attention to detail in a hybrid work setup.
- Currently studying or recently finished a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Agriculture, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Interest in sustainable agriculture or environmental science is preferred, and experience with scientific or experimental data is a plus.
