Deskripsi pekerjaan
Overview
The Commission is hiring graduates for its Graduate Development Programme (GDP), with intakes for 2024 and 2025. This is a full-time, salaried programme open to people who have completed a degree in any subject. The programme is designed as a pathway into a permanent Analyst position at the Commission once the training period is finished.
What the programme involves
Participants will rotate through regulatory divisions while also taking part in external learning and broader professional development. The programme is intended to build practical experience in financial regulation and prepare graduates for analyst-level work.
Learning and day-to-day work
During the GDP, graduates may be involved in drafting reports and correspondence, carrying out research for projects, preparing recommendations, and taking part in visits to sites or organisations. The role combines hands-on regulatory exposure with structured learning.
Desired qualities
- Ability to develop well-reasoned views, review information carefully, and make sound decisions
- Strong people skills and the confidence to work well with others
- Excellent written and spoken communication
- Self-driven approach, good planning habits, and the ability to manage pressure and deadlines
- Willingness to learn and improve through experience
- Ability to build effective working relationships through clear communication with colleagues
Divisions included in the programme
- Banking and Insurance Division
- Investment, Fiduciary, and Pension Division
- Financial Crime Division
- Enforcement Division
- Authorisations and Innovation Division
- Risk and Operations Division
Placement year option
The Commission is also open to supporting graduates in their penultimate year through a one-year placement. These placement years are available for 2025 and 2026 and are meant to give an introduction to financial regulation. Applicants who have already completed a placement year at the Commission may be eligible for a fast-track route into the Graduate Development Programme, allowing them to complete the full programme and move into an Analyst role after just one additional year in post, rather than the usual two-year route.
Additional information
Placements may be assigned to any of the divisions listed above depending on business requirements. Graduates on placement will work on meaningful projects that contribute positively to the Bailiwick of Guernsey.
