Role overview
An expanding nursing home group is looking for a Group Financial Controller to support its next stage of growth. This position is well suited to a finance professional with experience in nursing homes or healthcare, especially someone who can help build stronger systems and processes as the organisation scales.
The successful candidate should be comfortable working with HSE and HIQA requirements and bringing structure to finance operations, particularly when newly acquired subsidiaries are being integrated. This role offers a clear development route toward a Chief Financial Officer position within a few years.
The role is based in Ireland and would suit candidates located in Dublin, Kildare, Galway, the Midlands, Kilkenny, Limerick, Cork or Tipperary. The position requires travel, including attending the Midlands office twice per week.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee group-wide financial control across several entities.
- Review financial information and provide clear, useful commentary to support decision-making.
- Build financial models, including scenarios linked to mergers and acquisitions.
- Design, implement, and monitor internal control frameworks.
- Work closely with individual nursing homes and carry out regular site visits.
Requirements
- Background working with HSE and HIQA processes or compliance.
- Prior experience as a financial controller in a fast-changing environment.
- Exposure to mergers and acquisitions, either through acquiring businesses or being part of an acquired organisation.
- Must be mobile and able to visit the Midlands office twice each week.
Compensation and benefits
The package includes a base salary of €85,000 to €90,000, depending on experience and negotiation, along with a generous bonus and additional benefits.
In addition to the financial package, the role offers the chance to influence the company’s future direction and progress into a CFO role over time.
