Quantity Surveyor

Role overview

CBRE Asia Pacific is hiring a full-time Quantity Surveyor in Singapore. In this position, you will support the business by delivering commercial and contract administration assistance to the Project Management and Operations teams. The role also involves providing commercial input and support across both existing and new business opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates and quotations, then follow through to secure timely approval and the issue of purchase or work orders.
• Use Schedule of Rates correctly and explain any exceptions or special pricing to relevant stakeholders when needed.
• Review star rate items and compare them with market benchmarks before work starts.
• Keep cost databases up to date and analyse them to strengthen pricing accuracy and procurement decisions.
• Draft tender documentation, including detailed cost build-ups, while keeping in line with scope, technical specifications, and procurement rules.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders so that tender and cost submissions reflect both operational and technical needs.
• Assess contractor tenders for competitiveness, compliance, risks, and any inconsistencies.
• Check and process payment claims, invoices, and work order submissions, making sure they are accurate, complete, and certified on time.

Requirements

The employer is looking for someone with a Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building Engineering, Construction, or another related tertiary qualification. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the facilities, construction, or engineering sector is required. Candidates should also be familiar with cost assessments, tendering, and payment claim processes.
