Role overview
This position is with a major residential developer delivering a large housing programme in Ashford, County Wicklow. The project pipeline includes more than 500 homes planned over the next five years. The Senior Engineer will take ownership of the technical coordination, oversight, and delivery of key work packages, while serving as the main point of contact with subcontractors on technical matters.
Core duties
- Keep technical information moving accurately and on time between the design team and subcontractors.
- Lead the rollout and day-to-day use of the Quality Management System on site.
- Oversee the delivery of important work packages, including site development, sub-structures, superstructure, envelope works, and selected internal works.
- Manage subcontract package sequencing and programme alignment, while reviewing design information needs and monitoring RFIs and the Information Release Schedule.
- Supervise subcontractor site engineers who set control points, establish grids and formation levels, verify works package engineering, and prepare as-built surveys.
- Run the project inspection plan for the building teams, ensuring quality checks, installation inspections, and material testing procedures are in place and followed.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to resolve technical queries and close out technical issues efficiently.
- Handle technical submittals, drawing control, and related document management activities.
- Raise RFIs with the design team when clarification or additional information is needed.
- Carry out surveying-related duties as required.
Candidate profile
The employer is looking for someone with experience in technical document control, site coordination, quality management, and surveying within residential construction. The role requires a strong ability to manage technical delivery, interface with subcontractors, and support structured project execution on a busy development site.
Additional information
Package details include a salary of €75,000 to €80,000, plus a transport/travel allowance and bonus. The position is based onsite in Ashford, Wicklow.
