Role overview

This full-time, on-site position in Dubai is for a Site Engineer responsible for managing day-to-day work at the project site. The role requires close coordination with civil and structural engineering teams and ensuring that all construction activity follows approved architectural and engineering drawings.

Key duties

The Site Engineer will supervise contractors, track work progress, and make sure quality and safety requirements are consistently met. The role includes identifying and resolving technical issues on site, maintaining regular communication with project managers, architects, and clients, and preparing site progress reports. The engineer will also support project scheduling, timeline tracking, and resource planning to help deliver interior and architectural projects to CAI Architects’ standards.

Qualifications and experience

Applicants should have strong site supervision capability and experience handling daily site operations while coordinating several stakeholders. A civil engineering background is required, along with practical exposure to working with civil engineers on construction assignments. Knowledge of structural engineering fundamentals and the ability to collaborate with structural engineering teams are important. Candidates must be able to communicate clearly with architects, contractors, clients, and consultants in both spoken and written form.

Experience in quality control, including site inspections, specification compliance, and safety enforcement, is essential. A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline is required, and professional certification or licensure will be considered an advantage. Prior involvement in architectural or interior construction projects, especially high-end or custom environments, is preferred. The role also calls for the ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, use site documentation tools, understand applicable construction regulations in Dubai and the wider UAE, and work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team.
