About the Role

GlossGenius has expanded rapidly, now serving tens of thousands of customers and processing billions in transaction volume. As customers scale, the company is investing in AI capabilities that will help them run and grow their businesses more effectively.

The team is hiring Software Engineers at all levels to join either product or platform teams. Product engineers work closely between business needs and technical execution to solve customer problems. Platform engineers focus on building dependable, scalable, and extensible systems that help product teams ship faster and with better quality.

This position is hybrid at the NYC headquarters, with in-office collaboration on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is also remote for candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Greater Toronto Area.

Technology Environment

The company welcomes candidates with experience in a variety of programming languages and a willingness to learn new ones. The current stack includes Kotlin (Micronaut, jOOQ), Ruby (Rails, Sidekiq), gRPC, protobuf, TypeScript/JavaScript (React, Redux), React Native, AWS, Kubernetes, Postgres, and Terraform.

What You’ll Do

• Design, launch, and operate large-scale web applications that help beauty and wellness businesses run and expand.
• Contribute to the development of new AI-powered customer features.
• Help shape and grow the company’s microservice-based infrastructure.
• Create internal tools and systems that improve speed, confidence, and effectiveness for other teams.
• Work on customer-facing experiences that simplify payments, increase earnings potential, and support team management for businesses.
• Build polished front-end experiences for web and mobile products.
• Strengthen backend performance, reliability, scalability, and security.

What the Company Is Looking For

• At least 2 years of professional software development experience.
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, another technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong motivation to move quickly and make meaningful contributions.
• An ownership mindset and curiosity for solving difficult problems with new ideas.
• The ability to assess and improve system efficiency, scale, and stability.
• Good collaboration skills and a team-oriented approach.
