Role Overview
The Studio Manager - Design Coordinator is a full-time role based in Toluca Lake, CA, with a hybrid setup that includes studio work, site visits, and some work-from-home flexibility. This position supports the daily flow of projects and keeps project records organized as needed. Working closely with the designer, the coordinator helps plan staging layouts, source furniture and décor, prepare inventory, and support client-facing visual presentations. The role also includes managing the warehouse and sample library, monitoring inventory and vendor purchases, and making sure installations and de-stages are completed smoothly and on time. In addition, the position involves communication with clients, agents, and vendors, preparing estimates and invoices with leadership support, and maintaining a polished, efficient, design-focused studio space.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the day-to-day progress of design and staging assignments, including scheduling and timeline support.
- Assist the designer in developing staging layouts and selecting furniture, accessories, and décor.
- Prepare, organize, and manage inventory for projects and installations.
- Keep project documentation accurate and up to date.
- Maintain the warehouse, sample library, props, and studio materials in an orderly and efficient condition.
- Track inventory levels and follow vendor orders through to completion.
- Support installations and de-stages so they are completed on schedule and without issues.
- Communicate professionally with clients, real estate agents, vendors, and contractors.
- Help prepare estimates and invoices with guidance from leadership.
- Contribute to a well-run, professional, and visually polished studio environment.
Requirements
- Background in coordinating design or staging projects, including scheduling and managing timelines across several active assignments.
- Strong studio administration skills, including inventory control, workspace organization, and handling samples, props, and furnishings.
- Comfort using everyday office and project tools such as email, spreadsheets, shared calendars, and tracking systems; exposure to design or staging software is an advantage.
- Clear written and spoken communication skills for working with internal teams, clients, vendors, and contractors.
- Good design sense, attention to detail, and interest in interior design, real estate, and home staging.
- Ability to work independently, set priorities, and adjust quickly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
- Comfort with the physical side of staging work, including light lifting and moving décor and furnishings during on-site installations and de-stages.
- Prior experience in interior design, home staging, real estate, or a related creative field is preferred.
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in design, art, or a related subject is helpful but not mandatory.
- Must be comfortable working around dogs.
