Position overview
This role is responsible for carrying out track maintenance work as part of a team, with a focus on completing tasks safely, efficiently, and to the required standard.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out planned, corrective, urgent, and preventive maintenance and repair activities as needed.
- Perform spot re-railing when sections of rail need replacement or reinstatement.
- Complete spot re-sleepering work as part of track renewal and repair.
- Cut rail sections to the required size for maintenance tasks.
- Replace and repair turnouts as required.
- Remove sand and other obstructions from the track area.
- Support all other general track maintenance duties assigned by the team.
Qualifications
A school certificate or an equivalent qualification is required.
Professional requirements
The candidate should have recognized knowledge of track maintenance and hold a full driving license.
Experience
Relevant experience in the industry is expected.
Skills
The role calls for strong English communication skills at an advanced written and spoken level, along with the ability to work well in a multicultural team.
