Role overview

Rebel Hotel Company is seeking an AI Engineer to help build the next wave of intelligent tools for pricing, demand planning, and guest experience. This position sits within Technology/Revenue Strategy and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer. It is a remote role with occasional travel to the corporate office in New York, NY. The position is exempt and full time.

The company is a fast-growing third-party hotel management business operating across major metropolitan and resort destinations. The organization is focused on strong performance, disciplined operations, and memorable guest experiences, while building a culture grounded in leadership, innovation, and accountability.

This role is designed for a hands-on engineer who wants to turn commercial workflows that currently rely on spreadsheets and intuition into reliable software. The work will directly influence pricing, booking decisions, account strategy, and revenue outcomes across the hotel portfolio.

What you will build

  • Demand forecasting models that estimate occupancy and room-night demand by property, segment, day of week, and season while accounting for events, booking pace, and seasonality.
  • Rate and pricing optimization systems that recommend BAR and corporate rates while balancing occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and competitor positioning.
  • Account intelligence tools that combine internal operational data with external market signals such as M&A activity, headcount changes, and travel budget shifts to identify growth, risk, and opportunity.
  • Labor and staffing forecasting models that align staffing plans with expected occupancy and arrivals across housekeeping, front desk, food and beverage, and other departments while preserving service levels.
  • RFP and negotiation support solutions that help price contracts, model scenarios, and prioritize target accounts during proposal season.
  • LLM-based workflows that summarize market intelligence, draft account strategy notes, and answer natural-language questions about revenue data.
  • A controlled environment for testing beta AI technologies, including the experimentation setup, sandboxed data, and feedback loops needed to pilot, stress test, and validate tools before wider release.

What you will do

  • Design, train, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models using booking, rate, and market datasets.
  • Create data pipelines that combine PMS, CRS, booking-channel, and third-party market sources into dependable feature sets.
  • Build the production infrastructure needed to serve models, including APIs, monitoring, retraining workflows, and guardrails.
  • Run the beta testing lab by setting up pilots, engaging internal users, measuring outcomes, and deciding what should move to production versus be discontinued.
  • Work closely with revenue and commercial stakeholders to convert domain expertise into usable product outputs.
  • Define and monitor key metrics such as forecast accuracy, recommendation adoption, labor productivity, labor cost, and revenue impact.

Required experience and capabilities

  • At least 3 years of experience building and launching machine learning systems in production environments.
  • Strong programming ability in Python along with the modern ML and data stack, including pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and SQL.
  • Solid understanding of forecasting, optimization, or recommendation and pricing problems.
  • Experience moving models from prototype stage into deployed services, with ongoing monitoring and iteration.
  • Ability to explain technical ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders and translate business problems into technical solutions.

Preferred background

  • Exposure to hospitality, travel, airlines, retail, or another industry driven by revenue management.
  • Familiarity with dynamic pricing, demand modeling, or yield and revenue management.
  • Experience using large language models in applications, including retrieval-augmented generation, structured extraction, or agent-style workflows.
  • Cloud and MLOps experience with platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, plus containerization and ML-focused CI/CD.
  • Comfort with experimentation methods and causal measurement, including A/B testing and uplift modeling.

Compensation and benefits

The posted salary range for this role is $190,000 to $200,000 per year. The position also includes a performance-based incentive plan.

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) plan with company match
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Opportunities for career growth within a rapidly expanding company
  • The opportunity to contribute to a new approach to hospitality leadership

Why this opportunity stands out

You will own meaningful problems end to end, see your work influence real revenue decisions, and help establish an early-stage data and AI capability. If you want your models to be deployed and make a tangible difference rather than remain in a queue, this role is built for that outcome.

Rebel Hotel Company emphasizes bold thinking, ownership, and a willingness to challenge outdated approaches in hospitality.
